So tired!

 I did not sleep well last night. I woke up again at 1:20 am very nauseous. I could feel my delicious hamburger in my stomach. I took some meds and tried to go back to sleep. At some point Grunt got off the bed and went to the living room. Later as I was somewhere between awake and asleep, I thought I heard him walking in my bathroom and drinking from the toilet. By the time my brain registered the sound, he was already back on the recliner. I got up and looked in the toilet. I always flush, but don't remember how long I help the handle down. It looked like he did indeed drink water. I tried to get him to drink fresh water from the dog bowl. My mind was in a panic, because chemo drugs are excreted in urine. I went into google overdrive and intense observance. After my attempt to get him to drink water, he followed me back to bed. I stared at him and held my hand on his stomach for about an hour. He never started having stomach distress or a seizure. I think I fell asleep around 3:30, but it still wasn't restful. It is 10:30 am and Grunt is still asleep at my feet. I don't know if it is lethargy due to the chemo drugs he may have ingested or if it is his normal morning sleep lasting longer, since I kept him up. 

Hopefully, he will perk up before I leave to go get the pump disconnected today. I am not sure what to do about the extreme fatigue that I feel. I am thinking tomorrow may be a true rest day!

I may come back and update this post later with the how the disconnect and the rest of the day went. 

OH, my hair actually looks clean and my body still smells clean! That is a win...even if it was messy!

PM Update- Grunt is fine!!!! I got the pump disconnected. I am so incredibly tired and praying for a good night sleep. I can't really taste anything, which is a very UGH feeling. My mouth and tongue are actually kind of numb. BOO! Hopefully, it will rebound and be back to normal in a few days. 

All this to say- Grunt is OK and I am disconnected! 

ANOTHER UODATE- Grunt just barfed all over my bed. I put clean sheets on, but hopefully this isn’t related to his toilet drinking from almost 24 hours ago.

The time in between...

 So now what? I was told I have colon cancer. I had a CT scan done and got those results. The GI doctor called me with the pathology results. No surprise, the mass was cancerous. I will leave out the specifics of the pathology report, but will say that it did not show signs of being a genetic thing called Lynch Syndrome.  So, I wait... Those that know me well, know that I don't wait well. My mom said that I was born early and hit the ground running and haven't stopped since. Well, I am now on a forced stop. See there is this holiday called Thanksgiving. As you can see from my dates on the 1st post, it is near Thanksgiving. Nothing happens on that week, which is why all of my next appointments don't happen until December. I was left with my own thoughts, worries, and fears (yes, I will admit that I have those) for about 10 days. The First of Many Tests

 Still feeling a little shell shocked from the previous day, I headed back to the hospital for my CT scan. I got all checked in. Then a nurse brought me out a 32 oz cup with a contrast solution in it for me to drink...within the next hour.  I was making decent progress on the drink. However, there was a lady in the waiting room talking on her phone. She was loud and it was on speaker phone. It was horrible. We all knew her life story, which churches she went to, different people in her life who had changed churches, the reasons for the change, and so much more. She never stopped to breathe. In all honesty, I did not know it was on speaker phone until the very last caller when I heard the person get a chance to speak. The nurse called her back, but she remarked that she had not finished the drink. The people around me were thrilled for her to be called back.
